However, Hiei refused to answer and he stood up and continued to look for Yatsude. When Hiei woke up, Kurama asked him about Yukina, the name he called in his dreams. As he got an injury from their fight, Hiei collapsed and Kurama carried him back to his home where he took care of his wounds. Kurama and Hiei continued fighting, but when Hiei learned Kurama wasn't an ally of Yatsude, he stopped fighting. Consequently, they took the fight elsewhere, telling Kitajima to run, but before she was able to, she was abducted by a demon. They were then attacked by the demon bandit Hiei and Kurama summoned a leaf blade to protect his classmate. Kitajiima decided to leave, but Kurama felt demon presence and stopped her. Because of this, she thought he was a Psychic, and was glad to know this, since she too had some spiritual sensitivity (it is implied this was due to Kitajima's recent approach to Kurama).Īs both Kitajima and Kurama walked home, she confessed her feelings for him, but being a demon himself and not wanting to risk his classmate's life, Kurama had to decline. Kurama chased him away, but Kitajima was following him and ended up seeing it. Later that evening, while walking in school, Kurama was approached by a demon he defeated before, who told him he now had a powerful ally. Maya Kitajima asked Kurama if he believed the rumors and that it may be an alien abduction, but Kurama was skeptical. Later on, other students from Kurama's class were discussing on going there and had heard about the disappearance of the previous people. Thus, Yusuke is given a chance to be revived, and after passing his trial, he becomes an Underworld Detective. As he grapples with the fact that he is looking down on his dead body, a woman named Botan, who calls herself a guide to the spirit world, relays to him the shocking truth: no one expected a delinquent like Yusuke to die performing an act of goodness, and there was no place for him in either heaven or hell.
